these are the hard-to-find full size tombstone sockets. APPLICATION; This can be used in most slide in, and / or bolt in, and / or snap in, applications, and is known as a TOMBSTONE socket, for most standard and common fluorescent tubes / bulbs, including [ but not limited to ] ; LED bulbs for direct line voltage wiring when 4 contact is specified by mfg. and most rapid start bulbs , and also may be used if one has instant start ballast with correct number of wires, just about any solid state electronic or magnetic ballast designed for the following; F40T12, / F40TH12, / F32T8, / F30T8, / F25T12, / F20T12, / F18T8, / F15T12, / F15T8, F40T10, ETC. 4 hole. Important technical note; these sockets have four "quick connect" terminals each; you may just skin back the wire and push it in; AND if you need to, you may convert these to shunted sockets by taking a scrap piece of wire, and connecting the two inside connectors. Because of this feature, you may use this socket in just about any fixture. Contacts are in the bottom of the socket instead of the side. and allows T12 some air space between the tube and the fixture,
increasing lamp life.
It also decreases the possibility of lamp and socket breakage by providing some clearance.
360 degree turn is possible allowing for perfect positioning of lamp for solid connection.
We have found that it is not a good idea for fluorescent tubes to touch the fixture at any point.
